Overview:

When manufacturing ice packs, apart from mesh size, the following factors are even more crucial:

· Absorption rate (water retention capacity): This is a key indicator, indicating how many grams of pure water 1 gram of SAP could absorb and retain. The absorption rate of high-quality ice bag SAP is usually between 100 times (i.e., 1 gram absorbs 100 grams of water) and 150 times.

· Gel strength: The compressive resistance after absorbing water, preventing water from leaking out when squeezed.

· PH value: Generally required to be neutral, ensuring safety for the contents (such as food) and the human body.

· Technics: SAP is uniformly mixed in the non-woven fabric bag within ice pack, or it may be combined with other materials. This also affects the selection of mesh size.

Corresponding grades and characteristics

This application are mainly using sodium polyacrylate

SR820: It has excellent water retention rate and gel strength, which are very critical to ice packs area.
